Established on 24th February 1971 by act 33 of 1971 of the Kerala state legislature, the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) are one of the leading institutions in Kerala for providing high-level technological education and developing skills in agriculture, animal husbandry, fishery and other related fields. Situated in the lush green ambience of Vellanikkara, Thrissur, Kerala this deemed university has eight colleges (four Agriculture, one Agricultural Engineering, one Forestry, one Co-operation Banking and Management, one Climate Change and Environmental Sciences), six Regional Agricultural Research Station, seven Krishi Vigyan Kendras, 15 Research Stations and 16 Research and Extension Units under its ambit. Kerala Agriculture admissions 2025

KAU offers a Diploma, bachelor's degree (B.Sc), Master's degree (M.Sc & MBA), Doctoral degree (PhD) and Engineering degree (B.Tech) in the faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. Admission to these courses for the current academic session is done through Kerala Agriculture Exam 2025. It is a state-level exam conducted by the Commission of Entrance Exam (CEE), Government of Kerala.

BSc Agriculture admission 2025

Candidates interested in pursuing BSc agriculture and various undergraduate courses offered by KAU such as B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Co-operation & Banking, B.Sc. (Hons.) Climate Change & Environmental Science and B.Tech (Bio-Technology) in the current year need to apply online for KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Entrance Exam-2025) through the Commissioner of Entrance Exam (CEE) website. Such candidates must take and pass the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG) in the year 2025, which will be administered by Government’s National Testing Agency (NTA).

B.Tech admission 2025

Candidates interested in pursuing B. Tech (Agricultural Engineering) and B.Tech (Food technology) offered by KAU in the current year 2025 need to apply online for KEAM through the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Exam, Government of Kerala.

Masters and PhD admission 2025

Candidates seeking admission to various Master's degrees and PhD programmes offered by KAU in the year 2025 must apply and write ICAR AIEEA (PG) / ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency in CBT mode.

KAU Agriculture Admission 2025 for international students

For the current academic session international students can apply for admission to Kerala Agricultural University ’s Program through India Missions in their respective countries. After applying, the filled in application form along with bio-data and copies of certificate proving their educational qualification and age must be forwarded to the Embassy/Mission of India in the concerned country. Admission to KAU is arranged by the Government of India on behalf of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research/DARE/EdCIL. The seats allotted to International students will be in excess and above the recommended capacity in each course.

Eligibility criteria for Diploma in Agriculture in KAU

  • Candidates who have passed their 10+2 exam or equivalent exam with a minimum of an aggregate of 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology are eligible for admission to Diploma in Agricultural Sciences/Diploma in Organic Agriculture offered by KAU.
  • For VHSE (Agriculture)/HSE (NSQF Agriculture stream) reserved seats, the candidate must have received a minimum of 50 percent in Physics Chemistry and Biology.
  • Candidates from socially and economically backward classes, as well as a person with disabilities, who score at least 45 percent, are eligible. SC/ST candidates need only a passing score in the qualifying exam.

Eligibility Criteria for BSc agriculture admission in KAU

  • For BSc (Hons.) Agriculture & BSc (Hons.) Forestry the candidate must have passed his higher secondary examination from a recognised board with a minimum of 50 percent marks in Biology separately and 50 percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Please note that Biotechnology will not be taken into account while determining academic eligibility.
  • For B.Sc. (Hons.) Co-operation and Banking the candidate must have passed his Higher Secondary Exam from the Kerala Board or its equivalent exam recognised by KAU with a minimum of 50 percent in optional subjects taken together.
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST categories, the minimum eligibility is passing marks in qualifying exam

Eligibility criteria for Agricultural Engineering in KAU

  • For B.Tech Agricultural Engineering the candidate must have passed his Higher Secondary Exam with 50 percent marks separately in Mathematics and 50 percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. For SC/ST candidates the minimum requirement is just passing the qualifying exam

Eligibility criteria for MBA in Kerala Agricultural University

  • For MBA in Agriculture and Business Management, the candidate must be a graduate in any stream with 60 percent marks in aggregate from class 10 onwards OR a professional graduate from an ICAR- approved state agricultural university with a minimum OGPA(Overall grade point average) of 7.00/10

Eligibility Criteria for MSc agriculture admission in KAU

  • For MSc. Agriculture in Horticulture the candidate must have a bachelors degree in a respective/equivalent subject from a university recognized by KAU.
  • For MSc Co-operation and Banking, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any stream from Kerala Agricultural University or an equivalent degree recognised by KAU
  • For MSc. Agriculture in Forestry a basic degree in Forestry/Agriculture/Hotriculture/B.V.Sc. & A.H (for wildlife science only) or its equivalent degree recognized by KAU will do
  • For MSc Home Science any degree from Kerala Agricultural University except that in Co-operation and Banking Management and Agricultural Engineering will suffice

Eligibility criteria for M.Tech Agricultural Engineering in KAU

  • For M. Tech Agricultural Engineering admission the candidate must have done his graduation in Agricultural Engineering or its equivalent from a university recognised by KAU.

Eligibility criteria for pursuing PhD in Agriculture at KAU

  • For pursuing PhD the candidate must have done his Master’s Degree or its equivalent in the related field from a university recognised by KAU

Selection Procedure at KAU

  • For the Diploma and PG Diploma programme selection of candidates is done through an entrance exam conducted by the University
  • For BSc (Hons.) Agriculture & BSc (Hons.) Forestry selection of candidates is done on the basis of rank obtained by students KEAM Exam conducted by CEE
  • For B.Sc. (Hons.) Co-operation and Banking admission is done on the basis of merit
  • For B. Tech (Agricultural Engineering) admissions are done on the basis of rank obtained by students at the KEAM Exam
  • For MBA in Agriculture and Business Management candidates are selected on the basis of scores at KMAT, CAT, CMAT or MAT
  • For MSc Agriculture/Horticulture selection is done on the basis of the score obtained by the candidate in the MSc Agriculture Exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of ICAR or by the entrance exam conducted by KAU
  • For PhD, programme selection is done on the basis of scores obtained by the candidate in the ICAR entrance exam (ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD))
