B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering

Overview

  • Location - GHRU Amravati
  • Duration - 4 year
  • Course Type - Full time
  • Affiliated - UGC

An Electrical Engineer is trained to work in different industries in various departments. That is to say that a broad range of electrical jobs are available for students who have taken electrical engineering as their career pathway. The course prepares a student to design, build, research and test electronic circuits and components, very much prominent and essential in today’s hi-tech society. Furthermore, there has been an ever-increasing demand for electrical engineers in society for decades, which is still the same. Therefore, B.Tech in Electrical Engineering is one of the most popular courses among science students.

The curriculum of the course covers the study and design of modern applications & gadgets. It includes various fields like VLSI, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing. These fields form the foundation of Electrical Engineering. The course consists of 8 semesters which are spread over a period of 4 years i.e. 2 semesters each year. We make the students capable of applying their knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals to solve complex engineering problems. After successful completion of this undergraduate degree course, they can identify, formulate, research and analyze complex engineering problems. Also reach substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

Course Structure

The course delivery methods include lectures, seminars, training and a research project.

Admission Procedure

  • Before starting every admission cycle, the University issues a notification on the University website, notice board and other public domains like newspapers, etc.
  • After the last date of application is over, a list of shortlisted students is put up on the University website, notice board, or the students are informed directly about their admission.
  • You are eligible to apply even if you’re awaiting the results of your qualifying examination(s). Such candidates are offered provisional admissions and have to submit their previous years’ mark sheet to confirm that they fall into the eligibility criteria. You must submit your mark sheet before the due date of applying for admissions. Once the provisional admission is approved, the candidate will have one month to provide the mark sheet for the qualifying examination. Subsequently, failing to do so will result in the cancellation of provisional admission.
  • If a candidate is granted provisional admission under the above-mentioned conditions and the said candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria or has failed to obtain the required marks. In that case, the provisional admission is cancelled.
  • An application form is rejected for the following reasons:

  • After submitting all the necessary documents and fees, the student will be assigned an enrollment number by the University.
  • Rules set by the University for the process of admission will be applicable from time to time.

Careers

As an electrical engineer, you'll design, develop and test components, devices, systems or equipment that use electricity as their source of power. Some of these components are capacitors, diodes, resistors and transistors.

Moreover, job opportunities are available for you at various stages of a project. You may be involved at any stage of a project including the initial brief for a concept, the design and development stage, testing of prototypes and the final manufacture and implementation of a new product or system. Also, you'll work in project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering.

Further Studies

After completion of the graduation course, one can go for higher studies. A major benefit of it is that it provides the students a chance to gain expertise in their field of interest. Thus making better and more prestigious job opportunities available for them. They can go for a postgraduate M.Tech course in their preferred engineering specialization. Moreover one can also opt for an MBA course or specific postgraduate diploma courses.

Job Opportunities

As mentioned before there are many fields electrical engineers can work in like:

  • Acoustics
  • Defence
  • Medical instruments
  • Mobile phones
  • Nanotechnology
  • Radio and satellite communication
  • Robotics
