G H Raisoni University organized a Blood Donation Camp on 28 February 2019 in the premises. Total 112 Volunteers, teaching and non-teaching faculty members donated their blood. Mr. Kishor Kedia PDG of Rotory club was the Chief Guest. Mr. Gajendra kakpure and Dr. Dhiredra Adtiya was the Guest of honour. Dean of School of Engineering & Technology,GHRUA presided over the programme. Chief Guest, Mr. Kedia, in his address, briefed the students the importance of Social Activities. Dr. Dhirendra also address the student, he said that blood donation is todays need. In today’s scenario thousands of liters of blood required for patients, this need can be fulfilled only by the blood donation therefore everyone should be donate blood at least once in life. Dean of School of Engineering & Technology,GHRU , in his presidential address, highlighted the importance of donating blood a needy patient. The intention of donating blood is to save one’s life and it should be voluntary donation. He briefed the health benefits after blood donation. He said that donating blood helps in discharging cholesterol stored in the heart and helps build immunity in the body.
A workshop on Fire & Safety was conducted at Shree Vallabh Gases, Industrial Gas Supplier in Amravati for the workers & the employees on dated 28/08/2021. The workshop was organized by G H Raisoni University, Amravati.
During the workshop Mr. Vaibhav R. Kaner explained the Basic of Fire Science Causes of Fire, Classification of Fire, Extinguishing methods of fire, Fire extinguisher operation, etc. The training workshop the training for various aspects of fire conditions were explained. During such fire conditions how one can handle the pressure and act accordingly was very well explained. Mr. Vaibhav R. Kaner had given them the demos for such conditions as well as hands on practice to the workers.
Around 30 workers participated and benefited with this training. During the program Honourable Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vinayak Deshpande and Dean (School of Engineering & Technology) Mr. Prashant Awachat also visited the site & had given important inputs. All the precautionary measures were taken amid COVID-19 pandemic. The whole program was conducted safely and smoothly.

NSS wing G H Raisoni College of Engineering & Management, Amravati has been organized the street play on the 5 January 2018 on “Women Safety” in the association with Maharashtra State Police and Traffic Departments. The students performed this street play in the various areas of city. In that play they created awareness among the people. For this program Dr. Vijay Rathod, Principal, Prof. Nitin Mandaogade Vice-Principal, Mr.Arvind Thosare, Police Inspector, Mrs. Neelima Araj, Police Constable, Commandos and large numbers of people were present. Dr. Vijay Rathod appreciated and congratulated to the students for their efforts to create link between police and people and also for spreading awareness amongst people about Women Safety. NSS program officer Prof. Vikas Thakur, Prof. Pradeep Kotak and NSS students had taken keen efforts to make this event successful.
G.H. Raisoni University, Saikheda in Association with SGR Knowledge Foundation today 21.6.2019 organised an eye screening camp with the help of Mahatame Eye Bank and Hospital from Nagpur. 9 to 10 doctors from the hospital came for the check-up.
G.H. Raisoni University Vice Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Meshram and Registrar Shri. Shriram Joshi, SGRKF Project Head Dr. Mrunalini Naik welcomed the doctors. Prof. Meshram said, “Eyes are one of the most sensitive organs that needs care. We should take special care of our eyes.” He said cosmetic items like kajal and mascara were dangerous for eyes. Local villagers, farmers, children’s’ eyes were checked by the staff of the hospital. Around 750 plus local villagers turned up for the check-up. As many as 150 plus patient were advised to change their specs and 180 were asked to wear specs. Local students and women’s were also told how the sun rays and dust particles harm the eyes and were told about the preventive measures to be taken for protection. Prof. Sudhir Meshram appreciated the efforts of the G.H.Raisoni University & SGR Knowledge Foundation for organising the camp. He also appreciated Mahatame Eye Bank and Hospital & coordinator Mr. Manohar Golait for putting in efforts to let people know the importance of eyes. “We should pledge to donate our eyes after death,” he added.
GH Raisoni University, Saikheda (Dhodaborgaon) organized a seminar on the occasion of Farmer’s Day. All the farmers of Sausar and Pandhurna region were invited for this event. Farmers especially from different villages had reached the university campus to take advantage of this opportunity. A well-known farmer from Yavatmal, Maharashtra Mr. Amritrao Deshmukh and Mr. Surendra Pannase, Senior scientist, Agricultural Research Center, Chhindwara were present prominently for the guidance and to share their experiences during this programme. Ms. Meena Rajesh, Vice Chancellor, GHRU Saikheda, Mr. Kevin Gawli, Dean of School of Agriculture, GHRU Saikheda and Mr. Ramesh Jivatode, SDO of Agriculture Department Sausar and many other dignitaries were present.
During this, all the farmers expressed their problems in relation to other crops including cotton and orange, to which Mr. Deshmukh responded by resolving it... Mr. Surendra Pannase also expressed his views over the present condition of the farmers, “Concern towards farming in this current situation can be clearly seen on the faces of the farmers”, he said.
“Cultivation of both cotton and orange is no longer profitable for the farmers. Earlier the holding of both the crops was more in the Santrachal region, but now its figure is decreasing day by day. Even in adverse circumstances, the farmer of Santrachal region is struggling hard for difficult crops like orange and cotton. Even if there is good production, many times the farmers are not able to get proper benefits due to brokers”, he further stated.
“Along with traditional farming, now mixed farming is also necessary. In the present environment, the farming business is being done for maintenance as well as profit and is also the biggest means of employment in the country. But due to the lack of information and natural-unnatural calamities, the farmer is continuously going in loss. Which can be converted into profit only with the right information and farming in the right way, there is not a lot of loss in farming, but by correcting the causes and methods of loss, it can be converted into profit and the problems faced in farming. You can be successful only by solving it!”, He further expressed.
Mr. Deshmukh in his address enriched specially the knowledge of the farmers by giving real land and accurate information about cotton and other crops like groundnut, orange and other crops. Before sowing, it was told about the preparation of the land to the selection of sowing and manure and when to give it. He also gave the information about the medicines of various diseases caused to plants, crops etc. to protect them from insects and bacteria. National Farmers Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Raisoni University where all the invitee farmer were benefited with good knowledge.
On 1st February, 2021, successfully completed the event of Mega Tree Plantation under the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Bothiya village. The main objective was to direct student’s mind in constructive activities and bring awareness with the positive outcome through the facilitation of contributing to the society. Trees are the foremost source for producing the oxygen in environment, they helps to reduce the level of CO2. As we all know that the whole world is facing the problem of global warming and to recover from such problem planting the trees is become one of the most important aspects today.
The event was began with the welcoming of Honorable Dr. Meena Rajesh, Vice Chancellor of G H Raisoni University, Saikheda, Dist. Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Meena Rajesh addressed the volunteers about the role of trees in human life. She also mentioned that “we should take utmost care of environment. It is the self-responsibility of each and every one to plant a tree and nurture it and try to bring an awareness in society about the importance of tree plantation to save Earth.” Dr. Shriram Joshi also addressed in his speech the importance of tree plantation and its benefits for mankind.
Welcome speech has been given by the NSS In charge Dr. Lalchand Devhare. At that time he advised to volunteers to think differently for the Society to make positive changes and to make improvement.
Total 1200 students from different departments and schools participated in the event. The students participated in the drive enthusiastically and helped each other in planting the saplings. The Volunteers first of all took all the saplings. The volunteers planted desi trees. These trees include Ram Fal, Hanuman Fal , Lichi Tree, Tamradus Indica, avocado , jack fruit and coconut etc. Some volunteers were assigned the task to give water and some were digging to plant trees. Volunteers planted almost 1200 trees from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. The students also placed bricks as barricades and each student took the responsibility to nourish and maintain the allocated plant. All the saplings were planted in the school ground by students. The students along with the teachers also took an oath to look after the planted saplings, plant more and more trees and encourage others to do the same. Some of the students also shared their experiences and shared their joy with others. Eventually, the ground attained a glorious look. NSS unit decided to proceed with the same inspiration, enthusiasm and zeal to enhance the beauty of nature.
NSS Advisory Committee members Prof. Lalchand Devhare, Dr. Suhas Mane, Prof Yogesh Kale, Prof. Manohar Golait and Prof. Sushil Girhe took hard efforts to make this event successful. All the students and faculty members also participated enthusiastically in Mega Tree Plantation on the day.
On the day all the staff members and NSS volunteers and students of the university contributed enthusiastically. The event concluded with the Vote of thanks proposed by Prof.Lalchand Devhare. The celebration was successful in achieving its mission of imbibing an awareness to save nature. The event ended with a photo session with Vice Chancellor, teachers and students.
