BSc agriculture in Tamil Nadu is a full-time 4 years (eight semesters) undergraduate course provided by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) affiliated with Madras University. There are more than 18 constituent colleges (college and institution established and maintained by TNAU) and 29 affiliated colleges under the umbrella of TNAU that provides BSc (Hons) Agriculture and BSc (Hons) Horticulture courses in Tamil Nadu. TNAU has been ranked number one by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), an autonomous body that coordinates and oversees agricultural education and research in India.
BSc agriculture admission 2022 in Tamil Nadu’s constituent and affiliated colleges is done through Tamil Nadu Agriculture Entrance Test (counselling session) conducted by TNAU. Nearly sixty-five percent of seats in the affiliated colleges are filled in through the counselling session while the rest of the thirty-five percent seats are filled in through the management quota of the respective college. However, in the case of minority institutions, fifty percent of seats are filled in through TNAU counselling sessions and the rest of fifty percent seats are filled in through the management quota of that respective college. In both cases, whether seeking admission through TNAU’s online session or the management quota, applicants must have applied through TNAU’s online admission process.
Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance at the counselling session. Candidates can choose the course and the college of their choice based on their ranking at the counselling session.

To apply for the TNAU entrance exam 2022 (counselling session) follow the given steps
Candidates who secure eligible rank will be informed through SMS or e-mail. Normally, the ratio of “number of vacant seats (seats to be filled)” to “number of candidates called for a counselling session” is 1: 5. Kindly note that calling for an online counselling session does not guarantee a seat in the university/college.
All shortlisted candidates called for a counselling session will have to pay a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs. 3000/-(Rs. 1500 for candidates belonging to SC/ST/STA categories) through online mode. Those failing to pay the counselling fee will not be allowed to attend the counselling session.

In addition to the above-mentioned categories, certain number of seats are reserved for differently-abled students, sons and daughters of ex-servicemen, eminent sportspersons, students from state government schools, candidates selected by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), non-resident Indian (NRI) and Industry sponsored candidates under special reservations categories as prescribed by Government of Tamil Nadu. Candidates seeking reservation under this category have to upload relevant certificates issued by a competent authority.
MSc agriculture in Tamil Nadu is a full-time two-year (four semesters) course. Admission to this course is done either on the basis of the MSc Agriculture Entrance Test or on the basis of marks scored by the candidate at the qualifying UG Exam.
