Research Labs
PHARMACOLOGY, HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY LABORATORY

“All the world is a laboratory, to the inquiring mind.”- Martin M. The knowledge, the information and the learning through this thought process is definitely promising. And, this is exactly what we at the G H Raisoni University, Saikheda aspire to inculcate in our students.

Through our Department of Pharmacology, we intend to generate an intellectual and physical environment for our students. With our laboratory, the students are well implanted with the elementary principles via versatile experiments and practical education. Our laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated instruments including, organ bath, assemblies for isolated tissue experiments, Rota rod apparatus, analgesiometer, convulsiometer, Cook’s pole climbing apparatus to name a few. With the help of our well furnished laboratory the students are able to set up procedures to pursue tissue experiments along with In-vivo pharmacological screening experiments for CNS, CVS, and Respiratory, GIT and Renal drugs. The laboratory faculty is well versed to aid the students to learn better. Also, complete parameters of safety are taken into consideration for the entire experimental set up.

PHARMACOGNOSY LABORATORY

Pharmacognosy is the branch of Science which focuses on medicinal drugs obtained from plants or other natural resources.

Indeed, with plant materials being used throughout the developed and developing countries for home remedies and raw material for the Pharmaceutical industry, its significance cannot be obliterated.

Thus we, at the G H Raisoni University, Saikheda, aim to provide knowledge and information to the students on versatile topics including, production of pharmaceutical raw material from natural sources, traditional medicines and phytochemical screening of medicinal plants through our Pharmacognosy laboratory. The laboratory has the updated equipments and advanced practical curriculum so as to ensure brushing the students with practical exposure. A series of experiments are also conducted in the laboratory to make sure that the students are able to identify crude drugs, pursue phytochemical screening, employ instruments like Gas chromatography, binocular microscope, project microscope, TLC spreader and Clevenger’s spreader. The well equipped laboratory results in better learning for students.

PHARMACEUTICS LABORATORY

“Pharmaceutics- The science of dosage form design.”

At the G H Raisoni University, Saikheda, the Pharmaceutics laboratory is deemed as a scientific discipline centering on the procedure of creating a therapeutic dosage form, which can thereby be used as a medicine.

The objective of the Pharmaceutics Department is to ensure that the students are excelled in their practical skills and at the same time avail knowledge associated with the physicochemical properties of the drug, small scale manufacture and evaluation of dosage forms in the laboratory. Thus, our laboratories are well supplied with sophisticated instruments including, UV spectrophotometer, single station tablet compression machine, ball mill, Monsanto hardness tester, Pfizer hardness tester and capsule fitting machine. The apparatus we harbor at our labs, includes, Double cone blender, friability test apparatus, tablet disintegration test apparatus, tablet dissolution test apparatus, Andresen apparatus to name a few. In the laboratory the students are able to learn Novel drug delivery systems like ocular, nasal, transmucosal, transdermal and soft palatal drug delivery systems which assist in curtailing the drug dosage. A deeper understanding of the concepts is thus achieved with us.

PHARMACEUTICAL MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY

“The laboratory which bespeaks the study of microorganisms associated with the manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals.”

We at the G H Raisoni University, Saikheda aspire to provide a sound knowledge and comprehension of the presence of microbes, bacteria, fungi, yeast, virus, toxins and its significance in the Pharmaceutical industry.

The objective of our laboratory is to provide the students with practical exposure pertaining to Tissue culture techniques and sterilization techniques, including antibiotic essay and microbial screening. This laboratory is built with an insight into the biotechnology industry, and thus has instruments including, BOD incubator, digital oven, bacterial colony counter and autoclaves. It also consists of an aseptic room with laminar air flow cabinet and UV cabinet and well fabricated aseptic area in accordance with the standard guidelines. The equipments and tools assist in familiarizing the students with current good manufacturing practices, design, development and maintenance of sterile areas, procedure for sterility testing, experiments in biotechnology, growth, cultivation,

isolation and identification of microbes and the microbiological assays. Thus in-depth learning by the students is inevitable through our laboratories.

PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS LAB:

“Pharmaceutical analysis- Branch of practical chemistry”

Involves a series of process for identification, determination, quantification and purification of a substance, separation of the components of a solution or mixture, or determination of structure of chemical compounds.

Our Pharmaceutical analysis Lab is well equipped with sophisticated instruments like HPLC, UV Spectrophotometer, Karl Fischer Titrator, Gel Electrophoresis, Distillation Unit Reflux flask and condenser double / triple necked and Muffle Furnace, Colorimeter, Nephelo Turbidity meter, Flame Photometer, Potentiometer, Flourimeter, Conductivity meter, Ion- Exchanger etc. This lab played a significant role in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of drugs in accordance with various pharmacopoeias methods.

PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY

“Pharmaceutical Chemistry- Study of drugs and drug development”

Involves development and assessment of therapeutic compounds. It also encompasses drug design, drug synthesis and the evaluation of drug efficacy (how effective it is in treating a condition) and drug safety.

In our Pharmaceutical Chemistry laboratory, students get familiarized with various organic and inorganic compounds by their nature, physical and chemical properties and usage in chemical reactions as well as in pharmaceutical industries.

The students will be exposed to analyze the organic and inorganic compounds as per Pharmacopoeia Standards along with practical experience for synthesizing active Pharmaceutical Ingredients etc.

PHARMACEUTICS LAB

“Pharmaceutics-The science of dosage form design”

As it is the scientific discipline concerned with the process of creating the dosage form (such as a pill for oral administration or a powder for intravenous injection) of a therapeutic that is to be used by patients.

PHARMACOGNOSY

“Branch of knowledge concerned with medicinal drugs obtained from plants or other natural sources”

Plant materials are used throughout developed and developing countries as home remedies, over the counter drug products and raw materials for the Pharmaceutical industry.

Our Pharmacognosy lab is responsible to provide knowledge and information to the students on topics such as production of pharmaceutical raw materials from natural sources, traditional medicines and phytochemical screening of medicinal plants.

The primary objective of this lab is to provide practical exposure to Undergraduates and Research Students basic skills required to identify the crude drugs and adulterants, phytochemical screening with the help of advanced instruments like Gas chromatography, Binocular microscope, Projecting microscope, TLC spreader, Clevenger’s apparatus etc. for isolation of various active constituents present in medicinal plants.

LANGUAGE LABORATORY

“Knowledge of languages is the doorway to wisdom.”- Roger Bacon

At the G H Raisoni University, Saikheda our language lab is the perfect platform for the students to learn languages, gain access to its proficiency level and become well versed in the field.

Our language laboratory is an immensely useful tool for facilitating classroom engagement for our students. We have included in our curriculum, engagement and interaction via computer based exercises and activities in order to maximize language immersion. We harbor the laboratory software, which in turn enhances listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for the students. The system is such that it can be controlled by a teacher, after which it is connected to a number of student booths. Each of the student booths consists of a student control system, along with a headset and a microphone. So, basically software can be installed on any of the networked Personal computers, which a student has access to. With the aid of software the learning becomes feasible and enriching.
