Overview

G H Raisoni University’s School of Nursing is a global center of excellence in providing quality nursing education rooted with values, research and preparing the professionals with safe and dynamic nursing practice through clinical partnerships. The main objective of School of Nursing is to prepare advanced practice nurses, educators and administrators and to enhance research that improves quality of life of individuals. The school aims to integrate nursing education, research and practice through clinical partnership.

Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery [A.N.M]

Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery [A.N.M] is a Medical Nursing diploma course. A.N.M course comes up with a duration of 2 years, which is divided into 1½ years of teaching and 6 months of internship. Nursing is an integral part of the healthcare sector. Nurses play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of different types of health organizations (hospitals, dispensaries, NGOs etc).The course focuses on care, rehabilitation or treatment of patients. The main objectives of the A.N.M course syllabus are the prevention of diseases, rehabilitation and maintaining the good health of patients and/or the general public. Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery in Nursing course trains students and make them capable of working as basic health workers.

ANM course Eligibility:

The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of senior secondary school certificate examination (10+2), 10th class or Central Board of Secondary Education or a recognized equivalent public examination with a minimum of 50% marks.

General Nursing & Midwifery [G.N.M]

The GNM course provides vocational training to students looking for a career opportunity as nurses. GNM course through its integrative syllabus equips the student to understand subjects such as:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Microbiology
  • Psychology
  • Midwifery and Gynaecological Nursing

After successful completion of the program, the student can register as a nurse with the State Nursing Registration Council. The course is centered on care, rehabilitation or treatment of patients, GNM nurses are specifically trained to assist doctors in the efficient and effective treatment of patients.

GNM Course Eligibility

The candidate must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board with an aggregate of 40%. GNM nursing colleges may ask for compulsory English and/science as subjects of study in 10+2. Candidates clearing 10+2 vocational ANM with an aggregate of 40% of marks from any recognized board are also eligible to apply.
