Contrary to the conventional teaching and research in the field of agricultural sciences, In GHRU, students get advanced training in the field of agriculture science through integrating technological advancements. The curriculum is designed through a multidisciplinary approach aligned with international standards and as envisaged by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Expertise available at the national and international level will be involved in all spheres of the programme.
Students at School of Agriculture are trained in strategic subjects of agricultural sciences to the highest standards so that they can be ready for sustainable development of agriculture, natural resources, land management and contribute to nation building. Students can build high-end careers in varied significant agriculture fields like horticulture, agronomy, genetics, animal care, pathology, entomology, agribusiness, livestock management, and biology. The under-graduate programme has a practical bias with sound scientific knowledge. Students are exposed to rural agricultural work experience which includes attachment to villages, prominent agro-industries and fieldwork.

Tissue Culture Lab, Poly House, Net Shed are the few examples of technological advancement which University holds at the campus. Separate departments of Horticulture, Sericulture, Floriculture, Agronomy, Extension, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Biotechnology, Fisheries, animal Husbandry etc. are set up with state of art labs. Located in Citrus and Cotton belt University has undertaken various research works which will facilitate the farmers of the belt.
Primary Prospects
Students can attain positions as Agriculture Inspectors, Agriculture Officers, POs, Food Quality Inspectors, Agriculture Development Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Technical Assistants and administrative posts in government and non-government organizations.
