G H Raisoni University, Saikheda, Recently organized a seminar on “Lab to Land” for the village farmers at Gram Panchayat Hiwra, Chhindwada. The aim of this seminar was to guide them and make them aware with more knowledge about farming and agriculture in a biodegradable way and also to guide them about the use of bio-fertilisers and bio-pesticides, improvement towards advanced farming, supporting mechanism towards agriculture etc. for the benefit of the village.
Dr. Ashok Dongre, Emeritus Scientist, CICR, Nagpur spoke about the history and evolution of BT cotton, and guided them about its advantages and importance. Prof. Sudhir Meshram, Vice Chancellor, G H Raisoni University, also suggested the attendees about the importance of bio-pesticides, and bio-fertilizers also its use in farming. Soil samples were collected for testing which will be examined in the University lab. Further the farmers discussed about the remedies for agriculture at the end of the session. The seminar got an overwhelming response from the attendees.
