G H Raisoni University MP takes most stringent view against any act of Ragging. All the existing and prospective students are strictly warned against indulging in any act and / abetment of ragging and their Guardians are advised to sensitize and advise their wards against the menace of ragging, which may lead to most severe punishment including the initiation of criminal proceedings.

The students and their guardians are strongly advised to read the rulings of Hon. Supreme Court of India as regards to the same or may obtain the guidelines against ragging from the websites of UGC or respective regulating councils or from the Administration office of University.

The students and their guardians are also instructed to log on to www.antiragging.in orwww.amanmovement.org and familiarize themselves with the information available on aforementioned websites. They shall also submit online affidavit available on these websites, obtain a copy of it and produce the same to G H Raisoni University, at the time of admission.

At the time of admission to G H Raisoni University, Saikheda, all the students and their Guardians will be required to submit undertaking in the prescribed format for not getting involved in any act of ragging.

RAGGING IS CRIME 

The Madhya Pradesh Government has adopted Zero Tolerance Policy on ragging in educational institutions.”Ragging” means causing, inducing, compelling or forcing a student, whether by way of a practical joke or otherwise, to do any act which detracts from human dignity or violates his person or exposes him to ridicule or to forbear from doing any lawful act, by intimidating, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining or injuring him or by using criminal force to him or by holding out to him any threat of such intimidation, wrongful restraint, wrongful confinement, injury or the use of criminal offence. Supreme Court of India has defined ragging as a criminal offence.

PENALTY FOR RAGGING

No person who is student of an educational institution shall commit ragging.

Supreme Court of India has ordered that “If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explains is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the institution.

Warning:
No Leniency will be shown to the offenders involved in ragging.

All students are requested to note and co-operate in keeping our university and its constituent colleges free from ragging.

The quantum of punishment shall, naturally, depend upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the Disciplinary Committee or the court of law.

  1. Cancellation of admission
  2. Suspension from attending classes
  3. Withholding/ Withdrawing scholarship / fellowship and other benefits
  4. Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process
  5. Withholding results
  6. Debarring from representing the institution in any national or international meet, tournament,youth festival etc.
  7. Suspension, expulsion from the hostel
  8. Restriction from the institution for periods varying from 1 to 4 semesters.
  9. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution
  10. Fine upto Rs. 25,000/-
  11. Rigorous imprisonment up to three years
